James Gunn reveals plans to restart Gilligan’s Island “Cannibalism” | Entertainment News

James Gunn and Charlie Kaufman wanted to restart “Gilligan Kimishima” as a dark and cannibalistic movie.

The Guardians of the Galaxy filmmaker is more ominous of the classic 1960s sitcom, featuring a group of people left behind on a desert island, based on the script for The Eternal Sun on a Desert Island. Kaufman wrote in the late 1990s, revealing that he was trying to revive it in some way.

Participated in a Twitter trend that encouraged people to “sell the movie with two photos and no captions,” and shared a snap of the crew of “Gilligan Kimishima” with an image showing cannibalism.

He added below the post: “True story: In the late 90’s script, GOAT Charlie Kaufman pitched the movie version of Gilligan’s Island.

“Warner Bros. wanted to do that, but the creator, Sherwood Schwartz, said it couldn’t be helped.”

He then tried to regain his ideas after the first “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie in 2014, but after Schwartz’s death three years ago, Pitch was once again in resistance.

The cancer continued. “After the Guardian, I tried to revive the idea and wanted to direct it.

“Warners & Charlie seemed interested, but this time the late Sherwood Schwartz mansion denied it.

“Anyway, if Schwartz’s estate changes their minds, I’m here.”

Meanwhile, Gunn, who commanded DC’s “Suicide Squad” this year and released Marvel’s third “Guardians” movie in 2023, recently made fun of another top-secret DC Extended Universe project.

When an Instagram user asked James in a recent post if he was “developing a new DCEU project,” he answered “yes.”

However, the director insisted that it would not be released at this week’s DC FanDome as it is still in its infancy.

Another suggested that it could be a “deadshot vs bloodsport” flick, but James said, “It’s something else, but it’s not revealed in the fandome. It’s still ready. No. (Sic) “.
